As the district works to transition to a hybrid learning model, Food Service will change its method of distributing meals. The final day of the current distribution of daily grab-and-go meals is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, and meals for Friday-Tuesday will be distributed.

We are excited that the USDA continues to fund FREE breakfasts and lunches for all children ages 1-18. Starting MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, families may preorder their children's breakfasts and lunches in a weekly "meal kit." Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available. Each meal kit includes a menu and instructions. We are working on sharing ordering menus in the future.

How do I preorder my children's free meal kits?
1. Use this Online Ordering Form: https://forms.gle/DWVBiACQ1zJGNkw46
2. Place your order BY NOON ON MONDAY of the week you want to start picking up meal kits. You only need to place your order once to continue to receive weekly meal kits.
3. Families will list all children on one order form to designate the number of weekly meal kits ordered.
4. Choose where you want to pick up your weekly meal kits from several designated school locations/times listed on the order form.
5. Pick up your weekly meal kits on WEDNESDAYS at the location you selected on the order form.
6. Use the same Online Ordering Form to make changes to your order or to cancel your weekly meal kit order.

Pick up your first weekly meal kits on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21. Children do not have to be present to pick up family meal kits. Parents may designate someone else to pick up meal kits for their family.

The district will serve additional prepackaged meals to students participating in the hybrid learning model during on-site days in our schools.

Food Service continues to encourage families to complete the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Application in case of changes in USDA meal funding and to receive school fee waivers. The Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Application is available at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Home/PickDistrict.

Parent Guide to 1:1 Technology / Parent Guide

It’s the news we have been waiting to hear: the USDA has announced that schools may apply to extend the free meals program. We can now continue to serve all children in the community (ages 1-18) FREE meals during the first six weeks of remote learning.

Starting September 8, grab-and-go meals will be available for pickup Monday-Friday (with weekend meals distributed Fridays) at these four school sites: Hillcrest Elementary, 12:00–1:00 p.m.; Kennedy Elementary, 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.; Sunflower Elementary, 12:30-1:30 p.m.; and Lawrence High, 4:30-5:45 p.m.

Due to the limited time federal funding may be available for free meals, it is still important that families submit updated free and reduced-price meal applications. Plus, families must apply for meal benefits to be eligible for waivers of school fees. Complete an application at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application.
