100 years of friendship, tradition and community on the Hill.

That’s what grew from KU alumna Elizabeth Miller Watkins’ dream of an affordable place for promising scholars to call home. What began a century ago as one house for 50 women is now 12 scholarship halls that welcome hundreds of students every year.

Sometimes, one class or professor can change the direction of your life.

Michelle Tyrene Johnson dreamed of becoming a magazine journalist. Then, an intro reporting class at the KU William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications sparked a new interest and helped Johnson find her passion and her people. Now, the Louisville-based award-winning radio producer and playwright is using her voice to champion social justice and explore complex issues surrounding race in America.

Many KU alumni remember afternoons in the fall standing in the student section of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Now, for some, when they stand inside the newly renovated stadium, they see a space that they helped bring to life.

From the shape of the bowl and its sightlines to the details that create a new game-day atmosphere, Jayhawk architects and designers helped reimagine a place filled with their KU memories and helped design a place where future Jayhawks will do the same.
And just in time for another season of Kansas Football.

KU Campus Cupboard is going up against MU's Tiger Pantry in the lead up to the KU vs. Mizzou football game on Sept. 11.
