More than 45 years after serving as president of KU's Class of 1980, Greg Schnacke has fulfilled a longtime promise to his classmates with a new limestone bench outside the Dole Institute of Politics. The gift celebrates the Class of 1980, honors Senator Bob Dole's legacy and creates a welcoming space for reflection at Polly's Pond.

Across all 105 Kansas counties, KU’s Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute equips first responders with the hands-on training they need to save lives. From grain bin rescues to rope operations, this critical program brings expert instruction directly to local departments and helps firefighters and emergency personnel respond with confidence when the unthinkable happens.
