VCS Sports are underway for the year!! Over the weekend we had our preseason tournament in Shawnee. The Varsity had a strong showing on Friday, and then ran into some bad luck on Saturday. The Junior High on the other hand took first place in the Silver Bracket!!! What an opening weekend for this year! So proud of all of our Volleyball Eagle Athletes!! Let's keep it going!!!

Our administration team recently spent a few days at the Herzog Foundation leadership retreat. They are feeling refreshed and are looking forward to sharing what they have learned at our professional development days coming up next week and welcoming our students back very soon!

Fall sports media day is happening on Saturday, August 15th from 8-12 at the Veritas Gym.

The calendar may say summer but our teachers have been hard at work preparing for an even stronger school year at Veritas!

Over the past several weeks, faculty teams have collaborated to strengthen key areas of our program, including:
📊 Analyzing CLT assessment data to better support student growth
➕ Enhancing lower and upper elementary math intervention strategies
📚 Developing junior high executive functioning and organizational supports
🎓 Aligning high school curriculum to ensure a cohesive, rigorous classical education.

We're excited for the year ahead and can't wait to see how God will work through our faculty, staff, and students in the coming months!

Last week our Head of School, Mrs. Biggerstaff, attended the ACCS Repairing the Ruins Conference where Veritas was officially recognized for accreditation. The following statement came from the ACCS page:

"ACCS accreditation is the only widely recognized and accepted accreditation specifically designed for classical Christian schools. The accreditation process is rigorous and generally takes 12 – 24 months to complete. Achieving ACCS accreditation is quite a feat, and these schools deserve recognition"

We are thrilled to receive this recognition and what this means for VCS and the path forward.

Veritas would like to send out a huge congratulations to our Spring Sport Athletes who made the Lawrence Journal World All Area teams!!! Juliana Yaluk-Shults and Michael Knutzen both made All Area First Team for Track, while both Liv Maddox and Elias Salmeron-Dominguez both were Honorable Mentions. In baseball, Asher Lawson was named to the All Area First Team, and James Summers was Honorable Mention. Congratulations to your Veritas athletes!!!
