ELS Introductory Meeting

KU Environmental Law Society is hosting our first meeting on Tuesday, September 11th. We will introduce the organization and its members/officers, discuss this year's events, elect a new 1L rep, and begin planning our kick-off social event. A few volunteers are still needed for the replant event tomorrow. A ceremonial planting will take at 11am in front of Watson, and teams of volunteers are needed to mark replant trees from past years.

This year's replant event will take place on April 27. There will be a short ceremony starting at 11 AM that morning, then teams of volunteers will head out to mark all the Replant trees that have been planted over the years with ribbons and a sign.

Calling all planet lovers!

Although the first official ELS meeting is not happening until September 19th, we will be having a barbecue THIS SUNDAY, September 3rd, at Clinton Lake Overlook Park starting at 4 pm. Come one, come all, to eat, drink, and enjoy this planet we all want to protect!

Discussion of the Protest on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation of the Dakota Access Pipeline

The KU Native American Law Students Association and the Environmental Law Students Association will host a discussion of the protest on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The event is open to all. Speakers include: a representative of the KU First Nations Student Association (invited), Professor Sarah Deer, Professor Uma Outka, and Professor Elizabeth Kronk Warner.
