✨ This week, we are welcoming new faculty to KU during New Faculty Orientation! But the meaningful connections made during orientation don't end here.

🍂 This fall we are offering two New Faculty Mentor Groups as part of our Faculty Learning Circles series.

New Faculty Mentor Groups offer a place for new faculty to connect and share their experiences in a supportive community setting. Groups are open to any faculty member beginning their career at KU in calendar year 2026.

✨ Kinda chic to be a Jayhawk.

The Office of Faculty Affairs loves being a part of a community that supports learning, connection, discovery and recognition. We are looking forward to the fall semester and many more chic moments to come 💙❤️

Did you know?!

We have been supporting faculty throughout the summer with our policy alignment workshops. These workshops help those working on policy revisions understand and work on unit policy revisions related to the recent faculty collective bargaining agreement.

We have 6 more workshops coming up this fall on:
📝 comprehensive, promotion, and post-promotion reviews for instructional faculty and unclassified academic staff
📒 milestone review workshops for unclassified academic staff
📋 workload policy

This spring and summer, the Office of Faculty Affairs is supporting you and your units in learning the terms of the first collective bargaining agreement between KU and UAKU and what they mean for policies and processes you may encounter.

We appreciate the feedback as we develop support along the way. Here's one example of feedback we've received so far:

“I just wanted to thank you for supporting our department with funding for our two-day policy retreat. We wrapped up the second day today, and I’m happy to report that we now have draft versions of all policies, along with benchmarking information for each policy. It turned out to be an incredibly productive and collaborative experience, and I don’t think we could have accomplished this level of work without the dedicated time the retreat provided.

I also wanted to let you know how helpful the guides, templates, sample policies, and other resources provided by OFA were throughout the process. They gave us an excellent foundation and made what initially felt like a daunting task much more manageable.

A special thank you to Meagan for joining us this morning and taking the time to answer our many questions. Your expertise and guidance were incredibly helpful and much appreciated by everyone." - Claudia Dozier, chair of applied behavioral science

Thank you for your partnership as we learn together ❤️ 💙
