It’s Wacky Wednesday, and this art project sure is wacky! 🎨

Turns out all you need for a little fun is a big box and a paint-covered ball. Thanks to our amazing volunteer Kim Rack for bringing ball roll painting to our Lions classroom! 💛

Just a heads up, Ballard will be closed this Friday, October 9th, with no school that day. Our pantry will still be open for anyone who needs us!

We'll also be closed Monday, October 12th in recognition of Indigenous Peoples' Day.

We'll see everyone back on Tuesday, October 13th!

Check out some of our October/November barrel drive partners! They will be collecting some much needed items for our community pantry in the coming weeks, and we are incredibly grateful!

Meet our October Volunteer of the Month, Kyle Pacheco!

Kyle first volunteered at Ballard a year ago during his senior year at KU. After graduating, he kept coming back, choosing to spend part of his busy week in the classroom with our kids. He's amazing with the kids and a huge help to our teachers.

"Kyle is an amazing volunteer! He has built such a wonderful relationship with the kids and staff. We appreciate Kyle's kind heart and his positive attitude each day he enters our classroom!" - Ms. Megan and Ms. Tori, Lion's Classroom

Thank you, Kyle, for everything you bring to Ballard!

This week's Magic Monday spotlight: National Charity League, Inc., Lawrence Chapter (NCL)

NCL has been a partner of Ballard for many years now. On the weekends they show up to help process donations, reorganize shelves, and deep clean, so our pantry is fresh and ready to serve families right when the week begins.

We couldn't do this work without volunteers like them.

Our fall parent/teacher conferences are happening next week, October 5th – 8th, but we'll still be open and operating as usual!

Drop off, pick up, and all our regular programming will continue on schedule.
