The Lawrence Children’s Choir is pleased to announce Sara Bonner as the new director of Capo, LCC’s choir for its youngest singers. Bonner brings more than 30 years of music-teaching experience to the position. Originally from Iowa, she moved to Kansas for college and has since made Lawrence her home. She holds a Master of Music in Special Education and has taught students from preschool through college. She particularly enjoys creating and learning music alongside her students and supporting young musicians. Bonner also has a longstanding connection to the Lawrence Children’s Choir. She is the parent of two former LCC singers, has served on the LCC board, and previously taught Capo before the tenure of its most recent director, Lindsay Hatfield. “I am looking forward to meeting new families who hold music as a vital part of their everyday, and sharing songs to grow their confidence as we make music together. ” said Bonner.
