Thank you to Master Illusionist Alex Ramon for visiting ECS this week. During his tour, students at both middle schools had a front-row seat to a world-class performance typically only seen at major entertainment venues. Providing more than just “how’d he do that?” moments, Alex demonstrated that any passion, when met with hard work, can become a successful career.

At Environmental Charter Schools, culture is lived, celebrated, and taught every day.
Malcolm Isiah, a U.S. History Teacher at ECHS-G, shares that Black culture is deeply present across our school community from students, families and leadership. He feels this is reflected in our curriculum that honors stories locally and nationwide.
For him, Black history is a three-tiered story: his family, our country, and his community.
All equally important and relevant.

ECS is ringing in the Lunar New Year! 🐎Today we welcome the year of the Fire Horse, which is the 7th animal in the zodiac cycle. The horse symbolizes energy, freedom, speed, and resilience, and when paired with the fire element it represents bold action, 🔥rapid growth, and unstoppable☄️ momentum.
As a school community, we’re inspired to embrace new opportunities and celebrate our families’ rich cultural traditions.

Britney Collins is our ECMS-Gardena 🌻6th Grade Humanities Teacher. She is committed to ensuring that Black students see educators who encourage their voices, affirm their experiences, and remind them of their power every single day.
At Environmental Charter Schools, Black History Month is more than a moment, it’s a celebration of the Black community’s countless contributions to this world😇. While history can often be diluted or erased, this month calls us to bring those stories, and achievements to the forefront.
