Congratulations to our amazing students who were recognized during the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremonies! Students were honored with a range of awards presented by the Lawndale Teachers Association (LTA), Lawndale Council PTA (LCPTA), and LESD Leadership, celebrating their hard work, achievements, and contributions to their school communities.

Our Nutrition and Wellness Services team will be offering free meals this summer for all children and teens 18 years of age and younger, beginning Monday, June 15! Adult meals will also be available for purchase. Stop by one of our sites and enjoy a nutritious meal this summer!

Today kicks off our bridging ceremonies, and next week we will begin our 8th-grade promotion celebrations! Congratulations to all our students who are promoting this year! We are super proud of your accomplishments! The future is bright, and we cannot wait to see all the great things you will achieve. Congratulations also to all our families, teachers, and staff, who together have supported our students towards success.

We were honored to welcome a delegation of Taiwanese mental health and social work practitioners from the USC Taiwan Global Immersion Certificate Program to our district!

The delegation explored how our schools work to promote student well-being, mental health, and academic success.

A special thank you to Suh Chen Hsiao, Director and Associate Professor of Social Work Practicum Education at USC, for bringing this group to LESD. We also thank Dr. Maria Ruelas, Wondy Chew, Montserrat Gomez, and all staff who helped coordinate this opportunity!
