O.P.E.N. Global Village Leaders Pay Homage to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, at the Grand Palace
BANGKOK – A high-level delegation from O.P.E.N. Global Village visited the Grand Palace today to pay official tribute and express profound respect to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.
The delegation was led jointly by Prof. Dr. UraiPanyawan Pinthong, Co-Chair for Thailand of O.P.E.N. Global Village,Prof. Dr. Michael Little Crow, Chair for the United States, Mr. Ayesha Udana Madusanda Galkissage, Project Director of Justice Program and Mr. Phobsan Ngamusawan maneger director. They were accompanied by benevolent members of the organization.
In a solemn ceremony at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall within the Grand Palace complex, the leaders laid an elaborate floral wreath to pay homage to the Royal Remains.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the delegation proceeded to the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion. There, they signed the Royal Book of Condolences, formally expressing their loyal devotion on behalf of the organization and humbly commemorating Her Majesty’s boundless and immeasurable royal grace.

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother passed away peacefully at 9.21pm on Friday at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society, the Bureau of the Royal Household announced.

In the afternoon, Prof. Dr. Uraipayawan Pinthong and Mr. Ayesha Udana Madusanda Galkissage paid a special visit to the Aircraft Maintenance Department at the Excellent School of Aircraft Engineering, Khon Kaen Vocational College. The visit was part of a student exchange and academic collaboration program between the colleges. Prof. Dr. Uraipayawan was warmly welcomed by faculty members and students, and the event highlighted opportunities for knowledge sharing, hands-on learning, and strengthening educational partnerships in the field of aircraft engineering.

On October 6, 2025, Mr. Lampangphet Phanphet, Director of Khon Kaen Vocational College, assigned Mr. Suksan Wongchompoo, Deputy Director of Resource Administration, and Mr. Natthaphon Chainoi, Deputy Director of Planning and Cooperation, together with faculty members and staff of the Thai Silk Pavilion Museum, to extend a warm welcome to Professor Dr. Uraipanyawan Pinthong, Vice President and Mr. Ayesha Udana Madusanda Galkissage, Project Director of Justice Program of Maverick University of Arizona, United States of America, on the occasion of her official visit to the Thai Silk Pavilion Museum, Khon Kaen Vocational College.
During the visit, Professor Dr. Uraipanyawan toured and studied the exhibition room titled “Textiles in Buddhism,” with the objective of exploring potential avenues for supporting and promoting the conservation of Thai textiles within cultural and religious contexts.
Furthermore, Professor Dr. Uraipanyawan expressed her intention to donate funds for the procurement of air conditioning units to be installed in the “Textiles in Buddhism” exhibition room. This contribution aims to create an optimal environment for the preservation and sustainable display of Thai textiles at the Thai Silk Pavilion Museum, Khon Kaen Vocational College.
