From zoo animals to skating falls — today was one for the books!

Our students spent the day exploring, learning, laughing, and making memories together at Ross Park Zoo and Deleta Skating. We believe some of the best learning happens outside the classroom — through experiences that build confidence, curiosity, friendships, and joy.

At LHSA, we focus on more than academics. We focus on connection, adventure, community, and creating a school experience students genuinely love being part of. Days like today remind us how special this school family really is.

We are very excited to announce our newest staff member!
Mrs. Victoria Martinez will be teaching 1st-3rd grade.

My name is Victoria Martinez. I was born and raised in Caldwell, Idaho and moved to Grace with my family after my husband's promotion. I have a Bachelors of Environmental Science from the University of Idaho and decided to pursue my dream of being a teacher. I went back to school to Boise State University for my Masters in Elementary Teaching. Before moving I worked at Orofino Elementary as a 4th grade teacher and later a Kindergarten teacher. I'm so excited to be back in the classroom and work with young minds again.

There’s something powerful about learning beyond the walls of a classroom.
Our students have been spending time in nature, slowing down and using their senses to truly notice the world around them. What they can see, hear, smell, and feel. These moments spark curiosity, awareness, and a deeper connection to the environment around them.
In 3rd and 4th grade, that curiosity has turned into hands-on discovery. Students planted radishes in different types of soil; sand and potting soil, and are carefully observing what happens next. Each day, they measure growth, track changes, and record their observations like true young scientists.
Our Discovery Education (D.E.) program creates opportunities like this—where learning is active, meaningful, and rooted in real experiences. It’s more than just lessons; it’s exploration, questioning, and growth.
We’re incredibly proud of our D.E. program and the way it empowers our students to learn by doing, thinking, and experiencing the world firsthand.

Big ideas start with small voices!
Our elementary students took the lead in planning an outdoor classroom, sharing their creativity, designs, and vision. We were excited to welcome parents in to see their hard work come to life. The future looks bright!

We had such a great time at AG Days last week in Inkom with our 4th Graders!

A big thank you to Farm Bureau for inviting our students to be part of such a fun and educational day. Our kids had the opportunity to learn about goat tying, welding, FFA, and the role Farm Bureau plays in supporting agriculture.

We are so grateful for experiences like this that connect our students to the hard work, skills, and traditions that keep our agricultural communities strong. Thank you again for having us—we loved every minute of it!
