Very Important Update:

Due to the accumulation of snow, refreezing, and safety hazards caused by the weather, Laurens County School District 55 will operate on eLearning tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

When determining if roads are safe to travel, we take the following into consideration:

We have several hundred student drivers.
We have 25% of our staff traveling in from outside Laurens County.
Buses transport 2000+ students and have to be on the road around 6 AM (before daylight).

Very Important Update:

Due to road hazards and for the safety of all students, parents, and staff traveling on roads strongly impacted by the extreme winter temperatures, Laurens County School District 55 will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

All schools will open two hours later than normal, and bus routes will also run on a two-hour delay.

The Student Nutrition Services Department will be offering breakfast to all students.

Students and staff—please continue to prioritize safety, stay warm, and plan accordingly for the delayed start.

Very Important Update!

Based on the National Weather Service forecast of a wintry mix and an anticipated ice accumulation, Laurens County School District 55 will transition to eLearning on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Teachers will be sending home eLearning expectations tomorrow, Friday, January 23, 2026. Laurens 55 will provide an update as soon as possible if additional changes to school schedules need to be made.

Please note that the LCSD 55 Student Nutrition Services Department will be sending home meals (one breakfast and one lunch) with students tomorrow.

Students and staff—please stay safe, stay warm, and be ready to learn from home!

Yesterday a group of high school students and CARE students traveled to Walmart to shop with community volunteers and members of the Sheriff’s Department.
Huge thanks to the Sheriffs Department for allowing us to partner with them to help fulfill the Christmas lists of local children.

We had a busy week this week. From the Southeast Shakeout drill, to celebrating Dr.Faulkner on National Boss Day, and finally celebrating our cancer survivors (Mr.Smith and Officer Sharpton) with a pink out!
