I don't even know where to begin with this one. Chase came to me around 4th grade on the "gotta have 2 years of piano in order to play percussion in 6th grade band" plan. His older brother had already been coming for a month or so on the same plan. He has come so far from the silly boy that just wanted to mess around with his brother and play all the crazy sounds on the digital piano. He did join band in 6th grade and was in the percussion section (and will continue in high school symphonic band next month). He did not leave piano behind when he got into band, but instead became an even more serious student. (Continued in first comment because this could get really long)

For our last duet together Lynlee chose Beauty and the Beast. She has been a joy to teach and has come a long way since her first lesson just 8 months ago.

One of my favorite things is teaching students Heart & Soul. It's great for learning a duet and it's fun. The chord progression is a standard, which makes it a good one to have in your fingers. Lynlee has learned both the chords and melody and chose to play the melody for our demonstration.

Dawson and some Rockin' 6ths. This boy always comes in ready to play his assignments. And he always has stories to tell. It has been a joy to spend time with him since he was a wee little lad of five or so.

Next week will be my last week of teaching in Montana. It's going to be a hard week.
