Doris Lwanga's Preschool Music Program Children are wired by God to do the most amazing things. Ask a child to stomp like a dinasaur, and you will get all kinds of dinasaurs. I am so proud of them!

African Drums, African xylophones,
Dance - liturgical/world
Drama - Storytelling/Biblical
American traditional and Patriotic songs
Rhythmical instruments, Boomwhackers... I have taught
the story of 'Nsangi' (a Ugandan folktale) to 2 year olds, came back the next day
and somehow, they knew the songs in the story, from memory! They will
even be able to tell you what color it is. when you teach ki

ds rhythmic instruments, they will remember it forever. I am teaching Kindergarten things I learn't in High School. They can tell you what a
time signature is and even clap it out. Music, Stories, Poem, and Movement, all build up our Math skills and our language
arts skills, and don't mention Social Studies. We're always going to the map to find out
where the songs or dances we are doing are from. Bible is really important for children. Kids are always looking for boundaries and Jesus
provides a natural boundary to children. The stories in the bible guide them when
the adult cannot be there. Gone are the days of "Because I said so."

Music and Math - Here's a game I stumbled on, kids love this a lot because it sharpens their minds. Clap your hands for about 5 times and then ask your child how many times you clapped. So if they paid attention, they will guess 5. If they didn't pay attention, they might say 10, or 4 or 7. So say no and clap 5 again. This time, they'll be ready and will guess 5. At the same time, if you clapped your hands at a steady beat, you will be teaching your child about the steady beat. Or if you clapped your hands fast or slow, you will be teaching them about fast or slow, which are all part of music
