💚🌎 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY — OCTOBER 10TH 🌎💚
Mental health matters. YOUR mental health matters.
At Sussex Preschools, we know that behind every smile is a story we may know nothing about. Life gets overwhelming. Stress is real. Anxiety is real. Depression is real. And sometimes, the people who seem the strongest are the ones struggling the most.
💚 It's okay to have a bad day.
💚 It's okay to ask for help.
💚 It's okay to admit you're struggling.
💚 And it's okay to NOT be okay.
But here's something else we need to talk about...
Mental health is serious. It's not a joke, a competition, or something to use to get a reaction.
We've all heard the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. When we repeatedly use serious words or threats without meaning them, it can make it harder for others to recognize when there's a genuine crisis.
Our words matter. Our actions matter. And so does our credibility.
But here's the important part: We should never assume someone is exaggerating or seeking attention when they say they're struggling. Even a cry for attention can be a cry for help.
Mental health awareness isn't just about posting a green heart once a year. It's about treating people with kindness, being honest about our struggles, taking responsibility for our actions, and supporting those who truly need us.
Be kind. Be genuine. Be accountable. And never underestimate what someone else may be going through.
💚 From all of us at Sussex Preschools, Inc., remember: You matter, your feelings matter, and asking for help is a sign of strength.
