Don't miss the online nomination deadline! Every animal must be nominated through Showman by the end of tonight, September 4, even if you have already submitted your paper nomination form. Don't wait until the last minute. Scan the QR code and nominate your animals today so your animals are eligible for entry into the MS State Fair, District, and DNJR Livestock Shows!!

The South Mississippi Fair is just around the corner, and we are excited to announce that the SMF Livestock Show is now open for entries on the Showman App. You can click on the link here: https://showman.app/shows #/south-ms-fair-livestock-show-2026-c92a or scan the QR code on the flyer below! The absolute DEADLINE to enter the show is October 19th, Midnight.

Join us for the Jones County Cattlemen's Meeting on September 3, 2026 at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at Dixie Electric Business Park, previously (Wayne-Sanderson Farms). Dr. Josh Maples will be speaking on the topic of Buying Replacement Heifers vs. Retaining Replacement Heifers.

The 6th Annual Mississippi State Fair Livestock Judging Contest will be held October 11, 2026, in Jackson, MS!

We are proud to shine this week’s Partnership Spotlight on Jones County 4-H, an organization dedicated to helping youth and volunteers grow through hands-on learning, leadership, and educational opportunities.

Through programs rooted in the knowledge and education of land-grant universities, 4-H gives young people the opportunity to learn valuable skills, build confidence, and become active members of their communities.

📚 Did you know? Jones County 4-H was founded in 1914 and has been partially funded by the United Way of the Pine Belt Region for 30 years! In 2025 alone, Jones County 4-H served approximately 13,100 students in the Jones County area.

We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with Jones County 4-H and the impact they make in the lives of local youth. 💙💛
