We are incredibly honored to share that our advisors, Dr. Matt Wood and Ms. Sydney Simmons have been selected to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree!

The Honorary American FFA Degree recognizes individuals who have provided exceptional service to agriculture, agricultural education, and FFA at the national level, as well as educators who have built high-quality agricultural education programs that inspire students to succeed.

This recognition is especially meaningful as they receive it in connection with their support of Laurel FFA alumni and National FFA Officer Joey Nowotny throughout his year of service representing the National FFA Organization.

Also joining them in receiving this honor is former Laurel Middle School Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor, Mrs. Sarah Ruggiero! We are excited to see three Laurel agricultural educators recognized with this national honor.

All three will receive their degrees on the national stage this October at the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis!

We are proud to share that Laurel FFA was 1 of just 5 chapters in Delaware recognized through the National FFA Chapter Award Program this year! 🏆

The National Chapter Award Program recognizes FFA chapters for their Program of Activities and the work they do to Build Communities, Grow Leaders, and Strengthen Agriculture.

For a growing chapter — and in our first-ever year applying for this award — we are incredibly proud of this recognition and the hard work of our members, officers, advisors, alumni, and supporters.

We’re excited to keep growing, improving, and building on this accomplishment! 🌱💙💛
