Thank you to Security Bank of Laurel for the $1,000 donation to the LCC FFA National FFA Convention Trip! We will still take donations to help pay for the students trip to Louisville Kentucky. Come out to the LCC Bears football game tomorrow to support the National Convention Trip by buying a Tavern meal deal for $5.00 (drink and desert included)! Also purchase you FFa quilt raffle ticket! The quilt will be there on display as well! Go Bears!!!

First FFA mtg was a hit! All 9 large pizzas, bags of chips, and deserts were eaten! Going to be a great year for the Laurel Concord Coleridge FFA chapter!!!

Attention all current Alumni Members, Parents, Businesses, others who are interested in making the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA Chapter a success:
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA Alumni is having their first meeting this Wednesday August 19th starting at 7pm. The meeting will be held in the Learning Center in Laurel. We will be going over what the FFA Alumni does throughout the year, how you can be a part of the Alumni (you DID NOT have to be a FFA member previously to be a part of this group!!), ideas on how to make the LCC FFA Chapter and Alumni a success, etc. If you have any questions you can talk to the 3 officers of the Alumni, Scott Urwiler (President), Laura Dendinger (Secretary), and Ben VanderHeiden (Treasurer). You can also contact Ms DeHaan. If you just want to come to the meeting to see what the Alumni does, you are welcome! If you want to become a member of the Alumni, we will have membership forms available on Wednesday evening! Hope to see a large group there on Wednesday!

The Nebraska FFA Foundation is having their annual Blue Jackets, Bright Futures Campaign now. Starting August 1st and Ending September 1st, students can fill out an application to receive their Blue FFA Jacket and tie/scarf. Any student who wants or needs an FFA jacket to call their own can submit an online application! I highly encourage this to all the new and incoming FFA members.

Also parents, businesses, community members can help support the Blue Jackets, Bright Futures Campaign. You can donate $80 to ensure one more FFA student receives their Blue Jacket. It is not for sure that your donation will go to an individual from the LCC FFA Chapter.

Our very own LCC FFA Alumni will also be holding an FFA Jacket Application process to receive an FFA Jacket. If you would like to ensure your donation goes to a student applying from the LCC Chapter, please contact Ms. DeHaan at [email protected] and she will ensure that an LCC FFA member receives a donation.

Last year in 2014, the Nebraska FFA Foundation was able to give out 259 jackets and with donors help, they like to raise enough for 275 jackets this year.

The blue jacket is the very symbol of FFA–and you can help a deserving student with a free jacket and tie or scarf.

Calling all FFA members who want to get a jump start on livestock judging for this coming school year!!! Attend the Dixon County Fair Wednesday for a free clinic- must pay to get onto the fairgrounds: 1day $10.

Details:

Livestock Judging Clinic at Dixon County Fair, Concord Nebraska

Wednesday August 5, 2015, Clinic begins at 1:00 PM, Showmanship Arena.

Open to all students and adults of all ages, recommended for grades 7-12.

Market Beef, Breeding Beef, Swine, Sheep, Horses and Goats.

Judges are Martey Stewart/Angie Rethwisch/Brad Johnson

Come join the fun and learn how to become a member of a Livestock Judging Team

Entry Fees for the Fair is $10.00 each.
