The EMA team is working on a larger plan for assistance, but getting the right people, resources, and logistics organized is going to take some time.

I am incredibly thankful for the many offers to help. Right now, the absolute best thing I can ask everyone to do is simply:

HELP A NEIGHBOR.

Assistant Superintendent, Shannon New, often refers to the story of the “Starfish Thrower”—the child walking along the beach, throwing stranded starfish back into the ocean one at a time. He couldn't save them all at once, but for each one he helped, he made a difference.

That is what our community needs right now. Go make a difference—one neighbor at a time.

There are people near you who are beginning the difficult work of recovery and cleanup. Check on them. Lend a hand. Take them a meal. Help clean up. Sometimes the most meaningful help is simply showing up.

Please take care of yourselves and take care of each other. That is what is needed most right now.

I am in direct communication with our EMA team and will continue to share information as additional community-wide needs and opportunities to help are identified. ❤️

Mr. G
