Our Philosophy of Ecducation:
It is the philosophy of Greater Horizons Academy that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and their physical needs are met. The role of the teacher in children's learning is to know and develop a positive relationship wi

th each child and to assist in the fostering of independence. The ideal learning environment for children is developmentally appropriate and offers ample opportunity for a variety of hands on, real life activities to promote problem solving and appropriate risk taking. Children must see and experience tangible evidence of his/her culture woven throughout the curriculum to promote self-esteem and to complete the school experience. The role of parents and family in children's learning is to provide the vital link between home and school through mutual communication and trust. Familites are the child's first teachers and are always welcome in the program. We have a Quality Curriculum
We believe that children learn best through actively engaging with people and things in their environment. Children are involved in hands-on experiences, real-life adventures, and assisted discovery as they explore concepts through play.
