Dr. Mitch Taylor led seven students from the Boyer School to the annual Pittcon Conference in San Antonio, TX. Pittcon is a premier international conference and exposition showcasing the latest breakthroughs in laboratory and analytical science.
Dr. Taylor and the students proudly presented their original research during the conference. In addition, students served as conference student aides, giving them the unique opportunity to connect with and learn from professional scientists from around the world.
A major highlight of the conference was the keynote address by Nobel Laureate Dr. Frances Arnold. A Western Pennsylvania native, Dr. Arnold spent meaningful time with our students and graciously posed for a photo—an unforgettable experience for all!

Over the recent spring break, a group of students took the opportunity to learn far beyond the classroom—across the Atlantic to Scotland, the birthplace of some of the most influential biological and medical breakthroughs in history.
Through this natural science core course, students dove into Scottish Tales—historical accounts, vivid narratives, and scientific literature that reveal the incredible stories and discoveries rooted in Scotland. These tales span centuries and continue to shape modern biology and medicine.
During our study abroad trip, these stories truly came to life. Students:
🏛️ Attended lectures and academic sessions
🔬 Toured universities and museums
🚶‍♂️ Retraced the steps of pivotal Scottish scientists and medical pioneers
🎭 Immersed themselves in Scottish culture, history, and landscape
This adventure was truly a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience!🌍

🌎Boyer School students and faculty recently returned from an incredibly meaningful and inspiring mission trip in the Dominican Republic. Students had the opportunity to step outside of the classroom and serve with compassion - gaining firsthand insight into the challenges many communities face in accessing healthcare.

Our pre-dental students were especially impactful, taking active roles in patient care and demonstrating remarkable dedication throughout the week.

We're so proud of our students and all they were able to accomplish while connecting and serving the community of Villa Hermosa with such selfless and grateful hearts.đź’›
