On Thursday, we held our final 8th Grade Promotion as MacArthur K-8 University.

Thank you to our keynote speaker, former MacArthur student and recent high graduate; Destiny Washington, She filled our future high schoolers with words of wisdom as they move to the next chapter.

The students were pleasantly surprised to see former MacArthur principal, Mr. Lake as he affirmed them with his final “Be Great” speech.

Congratulations to all of our 8th grade graduates. 🎓

The third grade classes took their annual trip to the Ford Rouge Factory. Students got an inside look at the making of America’s most iconic truck, the Ford F-150 as well as an inside look of factory and it’s workers.

The third graders then traveled to the Henry Ford museum for lunch and a tour of the museum.

Congratulations to 7th grader, Alyssa Campbell!

Alyssa was selected for the LTU Blue Devil Scholarship starting in the 2024 semester. This scholarship is designated for the students who placed in the Teen Mental Wellness Community Forum Essay Contest. This award recognizes a spirit of creativity, investigation and innovation that is at the heart of the Lawerence Tech experience. Alyssa was awarded $80,000.

Tonight, the NAACP Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner was held this evening with special guest, President . Grace Hillie (Ms. Carpenter) was recognized for winning 1st place in the essay contest and Savannah Brown (Ms. Walker) was recognized for winning 3rd place in the 34th NAACP Detroit Branch Art & Essay Contest.

Thank you to Ms. Carpenter and Mrs. Smith for coming to support our MacArthur winners. Gracie and Savannah grabbed a quick picture with Mr. Lake who was present as well.

It was Day 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week. The teachers enjoyed a delicious breakfast compliments of . We also enjoyed a mid week Spirit Day where students dressed like teachers and teachers dressed like students.

The teachers definitely brought it!! 🍏
