Does It Matter What Time of the Month It Is?
Waxing hurts more the week before your period, so it's best to go in the week after. And if you're pregnant? Just like always, some days we are a little more sensitive than others So if you're pregnant, it's fine. It maybe alittle bit more sensitive. Otherwise, it's just about being comfortable. The first time clients are scared. Not because of the pain, but because they're embarrassed. But after they've gotten one, forget about it!

Did you know that double dipping your waxing stick is Illegal in NY!
If your treatment involves using sticks in a communal pot of wax, beware of practitioners "double dipping" those sticks back into the pot. If sticks are being used, and a stick with wax does get rubbed against an infected area of the skin and then put back into the pot for more wax!

As I mentioned this week, shaving is just trimming your hairs, which means it’s cutting the hair off at the top. These broken hairs can cause painful – and gross – ingrown hairs as they grow back. On the other hand, since waxing is pulling hairs out by their roots, it’s a less risky form of hair removal.

This is especially true if you are blessed (or cursed?) with blonde hair on your head, legs, and everywhere in between. You’re apt to miss a hair here or there when shaving, but that doesn’t happen nearly as often with waxing. And let’s think about the unwanted hair on those nether-areas, for a moment: You don’t want a razor blade anywhere near there, do you? No hairs missed means hairless bliss!
