The interview everyone has been waiting for is finally here. When I first began this journey to discover the origins of BJJ, Carley Gracie was on top of the list of interviewees. Unfortunately I could never get a hold of him… Fortunately Dr. Peter Goldman, DC and Clark Gracie® finally made this bridge possible. And I can easily say it was one of the best interviews yet (possibly the best one). Needless to say I consider myself honored and privileged to be able to sit with such a distinguished living piece of BJJ history and even learn a couple of details from the mounted guillotine 😎. The interview will be available in my next book (late 2026/early 2027): Rethinking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Towards a Meritocratic Reading of History. Pre-order coming soon.

“I’m a martial artist who happens to own a business...”

It’s a thought that crosses your mind the same way it crosses mine.

BJJ Black belt, world champion, co-founder of Zenith Jiu Jitsu by Robert Drysdale, author, and father. I’m very busy, and like you, I don’t own a gym to spend time at a desk; I do it because I love coaching and am passionate about martial arts.

My solution to the manual work? Kicksite. Using Kicksite allows me to focus on what I actually care about: building relationships, seeing my friends, and coaching.

After 23 years in the business, you can take my word for it. Send Martial Arts Software 🥋 a message to try the software for free!

E aí existe a experiência.

A fulfilling sense of happiness when I least expected it is what you brought into my life. With you life feels lighter, while every hurdle becomes nothing but small trifle when compared to what you bring. Real wealth is what we create together everyday, even at a distance. Thank you for being in my life Roza 🌹 , thank you for understanding me, thank you for believing in me, thank you for being such an amazing wife and for bringing so much joy into my existence. I hope to share these feelings with you for many years to come as we grow our family.❤️ Yours always, RD
