๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ›ด BACK TO SCHOOL, CCSD! ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿš—

A new school year means new routines, new adventures, and lots of students traveling to and from school. Letโ€™s make safety part of the routine! ๐Ÿ’™

Whether you walk, bike, scoot, roll, ride the bus, or drive, remember:

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Walk Smart: Use crosswalks, follow signals, stay alert, and look both ways before crossing.

๐Ÿšฒ Ride Safe: Wear a properly fitted helmet, follow the rules of the road, and stay alert for people and vehicles.

๐Ÿ›ด Roll Responsibly: Slow down around pedestrians, use designated paths when available, and be aware of your surroundings.

๐Ÿš— Drive with Care: Slow down in school zones, follow posted signs, watch for students, and never use your phone while driving.

๐ŸšŒ Be Bus-Safe: Stay back from the bus, wait for the driverโ€™s signal, and always look for traffic before crossing.

๐Ÿ’™ Parents & caregivers: Give yourself extra time during drop-off and pick-up, follow school traffic patterns, and model safe behaviors for your students.

Letโ€™s start the school year strong and make safety a priority every step, pedal, and mile of the way!

๐ŸŒŸ Have a safe and successful school year, CCSD!

A Heartfelt Thank You to the City of Henderson

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero, the City of Henderson, and the Safe Routes to School initiative for their outstanding partnership in bringing the Youth Bike & Scooter Skills Workshops to Del Webb.

Thanks to funding from the Nevada State Office of Traffic Safety, our students received valuable hands-on training focused on safe riding practices, awareness, and responsible commuting.

The impact of this program has already been incredible:
๐Ÿšด Helmet use among students has increased from 52% to 76% since December
๐Ÿช– Nearly every student without a helmet received one free of charge
๐Ÿ“ˆ Student participation and engagement continued to grow throughout each workshop session

As bicycle and e-bike usage continues to increase, programs like โ€œRide Smart. Stay Safe.โ€ play an important role in helping students build safe habits both on and off campus.

We are truly thankful to Mayor Romero, Tory Jackson, and the entire City of Henderson team for their dedication to student safety and wellness. Together, we are helping create a safer journey to and from school for our Wranglers every day. โค๏ธ

Build Your Bike & Roll to School Day : Walk & Bike to School 05/05/2026

๐Ÿšฒ๐ŸŒŸ Tomorrow is Bike & Roll to School Day! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ›ด

Join CCSD students, families, and schools in celebrating a fun, active, and healthy way to start the school day by biking, rolling, or scooting to school!

Whether youโ€™re behind the wheel or on two wheels, safety is everyoneโ€™s responsibility. Here are some important tips to help make tomorrow safe and successful for all:

๐Ÿš— Safety Tips for Drivers:
Slow down in school zones and residential areasโ€”expect more cyclists and scooters than usual.
Stay alert and avoid distractions (put the phone down!).
Change lanes or give at least 3 feet of space when passing people biking or scooting.
Watch carefully at intersections and crosswalksโ€”kids may move unpredictably.
Be patient and expect delays during drop-off and pick-up times.

๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ›ด Safety Tips for Riders (Bikes & Scooters):
Always wear a properly fitted helmet.
Obey all traffic signals and use crosswalks when crossing streets.
Ride on the right side of the road and stay predictableโ€”no sudden movements.
Use hand signals when turning or stopping.
Make yourself visibleโ€”bright clothing, reflectors, or lights help drivers see you.
If riding a scooter, keep both hands on the handlebars and watch for uneven surfaces.

Letโ€™s work together to make Bike & Roll to School Day safe, fun, and memorable for everyone! ๐Ÿ’™
