But for our first Pack Pride Friday, we’re celebrating the WHOLE HUSKY PACK! 🎉

Our students have knocked it out of the park this first week—learning new routines and procedures, meeting new people, adapting to changes, and most importantly, showing up ready to learn! ⚾📚

Thrive Thursday is all about celebrating clubs, extracurricular opportunities, student programs, and classroom celebrations at Hickey!

Today we’re spotlighting the 🎤 Hickey Headliners! 🎤 Our 4th & 5th grade Huskies have the opportunity to find their voice, make new friends, and be part of our school choir! ⭐

One of our schoolwide goals this year is to combat chronic absenteeism and make sure our Huskies are at school, on time, and ready to learn! 📚✨

How can you help our Pack?
⏰ Be at school on time
🏫 Be at school all the time
🚗 Limit early releases whenever possible — picking your child up early can impact their attendance
💻 When your child is sick, complete the online absence form on the Hickey website
🩺 Provide a doctor’s note when applicable
💬 If your child is absent for a reason other than illness, communicate with our team

We are here to support our Hickey families and help connect you with resources when needed. If we don’t know, we can’t help! 💙

Every day at school gives our Huskies consistent access to the learning, tools, support, and instruction they need to make progress.

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: YVONNE MORTON! 🌟💗

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Ms. Morton, our amazing Licensed Clinical Social Worker & School Social Worker! 🩷✨

Ms. Morton has been working in the social work field since 2011, has been a licensed social worker since 2014, and became clinically licensed in 2024. 🎓 She earned her undergraduate degree in Social Work from UNLV and her Master’s in Social Work from UNR — talk about representing Nevada! 🎓🏫

Before joining CCSD, Ms. Morton experience includes working with the Department of Family Services, Foster Care, and as a Mental Health Therapist supporting children, youth, and adults. Her dedication to supporting students, families, and the school community is truly something to celebrate! 💕🫶

🤸‍♀️ Hidden Talent: Yvonne was a competitive gymnast for 10 YEARS!

🌴 Las Vegas Local: She moved to Las Vegas in 2001!
⚽🎭💃 Mom Life: Soccer mom, theater mom AND dance mom!
👩‍👧‍👧‍👧👦 Proud Mom of 4: Daughters ages 21, 18, and 12, and a 14-year-old son!
🐶 Furry Family Member: Her dog, Chewy!
🎶💗 And yes… she’s a SWIFTIE! 😉✨

Many of you had the opportunity to meet some of our players at our recent event. If you missed it, here's your chance to meet all of our amazing grade-level teams!

We're excited to introduce every team as we gear up for Opening Day. We have an incredible group of players this season who are ready to step up to the plate, work hard, have fun, and make memories on and off the field.
