UNLV NSBE aim to introduce various students to an atmosphere full of mentor-ship, leadership that will follow them throughout their college career

The objectives of the organization are to:

* Stimulate and develop student interest in the various engineering disciplines.

* Strive to increase the number of minority students studying engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

* Encourage members to seek advanced degrees in engineering or related fields and to obtain professional engineering registrations.

The UNLV National Society of Black Engineers extends its sincere thanks and gratitude to Engineers Without Borders - UNLV for the invitation to the STEM Student Organization Showcase (SSOS) held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Black Fire Innovation in Las Vegas.

Participating STEM Student Organizations included UNLV EWB, UNLV Layer Zero, UNLV Scientista, and UNLV NSBE.

SSOS by UNLV EWB gave participating STEM student organizations the opportunity to network with companies in Las Vegas and to seek sponsorships. The event featured presentations from each student organization, tabling, and catering.

UNLV NSBE Officers Toneke Graham (Treasurer), Johnathan Solomon (Secretary), and Maliesha Shomo (Vice President) represented UNLV NSBE.

A special thanks to UNLV EWB's Erick Serrano and Cameron J. for working so hard to facilitate the event. Thank you to Robert Rippee, Ph.D. for allowing use of the Black Fire Innovation space for the event. Finally, thank you to all the company representatives that attended the SSOS by UNLV EWB.

The community garden has no official address, the best way to find the garden is to look up the "Rebel Recycling Center" on google maps, or look up "Lot T" or "Lot R" where there is plenty of parking located right next to the garden. The best way to get to the garden is to travel east on Flamingo and take the first right before Claymont St.

UNLV NSBE's 3rd General Body Meeting of Fall 2021 will take place on Monday, November 8. Guest speaker Jermaine A. Jones Sr. will be introducing UNLV NSBE to Mission Support and Test Services, LLC and their activities and opportunities in Las Vegas, NV and the nation. Additional guest speakers include Tara Pike of the UNLV Rebel Recycling Center and Kyle Ethelbah of the UNLV Center for Academic Enrichment & Outreach.
