Still feeling inspired after an incredible time at the COPAA 2026 Conference! ✨

Over the past few days, advocates, attorneys, educators, and families came together with a shared mission: protecting and advancing the rights of students with disabilities. The energy, collaboration, and dedication in every session and conversation were truly powerful.

From insightful presentations to meaningful connections with colleagues from across the country, the conference was a reminder of why this work matters so much. I’m leaving with new ideas, renewed motivation, and deep gratitude for this amazing community.

Thank you to Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates for organizing such a thoughtful and impactful event. Already looking forward to next year! 💙📚

Communication isn’t always about perfectly formed words. Sometimes it’s eyebrow choreography. Sometimes it’s interpretive dance. Sometimes it’s a sound that falls somewhere between a kazoo and a dinosaur.

And I just nod like I fully understand.
“Wow. That’s a great point.”
“Tell me more about that.”
“You’re absolutely right."

It's been over a year since I earned my PhD in Special Education. 🎓✨

This journey was never just about a degree. It was about deepening my knowledge so I can better serve the families and children who trust me to walk alongside them. It was about turning research into real-world impact. It was about becoming an even stronger advocate for students with disabilities who deserve access, equity, and opportunity.

My mission remains the same — to empower parents with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to support their child’s growth and success. Through advocacy and parent training, I am committed to helping families understand their rights, build effective strategies, and create environments where their children can thrive.

Every child deserves to be seen for their strengths. Every parent deserves to feel equipped and supported. And every voice deserves to be heard. Here’s to continued advocacy, continued learning, and continued impact. 💙

What is my research all about?
I have been working for the last five years on research in early childhood and special education topics. My goal in my research is simply to improve the lives of children with special needs and their families by asking questions that impact them and centering their voices and experiences. My dissertation focused on using evidence-based methods to help improve social skills for young children with developmental delays. I plan to continue working on ways to improve outcomes for children with disabilities.
