Gun defense when the threat is from behind! The best defense is try not to let this happen, but if it does - know what to do!

Weapons of opportunity are all around us, in almost every location. If you're faced with a knife attacker, defend with anything you can use to gain an advantage. Create the space required and arm yourself with any object that gives you a reach advantage. This could be any stick-like object, a chair or stool, or even your bag/purse can be used as a shield. Learn to use your environment to your advantage, and you will be safer.

I'm not going to get into any of the politics of this. The point of me posting this video is to open some peoples' eyes to the fact that the drive to murder or harm others is possibly within people of all ages. You can't ever let your guard down and underestimate any aggressor, no matter your level of training or perceived advantages.

Lethal force can come at you from any angle and from any person. Always be in condition yellow, especially in transitional spaces like public transportation.

Another thing to consider is: I wonder how many shots missed the attackers and went blasting through whatever public space this train was traveling through? You must be prepared to answer for every shot that comes from your weapon, both legally and morally.

Krav Maga definitely incorporates basic wrestling in its curriculum, and if that's your background, you probably do it a lot more than most practitioners. This is a great looking takedown series to train, to try and be as good as good as this wrestler at his own game. At the very least, could you defend these takedowns and stay on your feet?

I've actually trained with and been trained by the guy in the video a little bit, and I can tell you my answer to that question...if strictly grappling, no I couldn't defend his high level of takedowns. But if we factored in "no rules", then MAYBE I could, maybe I couldn't.

This is a great simulation tool to see how fast an attacker (whether armed with a knife or not) can cover ground if they're bent on causing you harm or death.
