From wandering the halls as a student to being the one teaching them, Jessica Shellman has spent her time at UNLV making a difference in the communities around her.

Jessica is graduating from UNLV with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus in Secondary English. During her time at UNLV, she dedicated three years to serving students as a Desk Assistant with Housing Operations while also enriching campus life through her involvement with Disney Club, University Chorale, and The Rebel HD2 - 91.5 KUNV as a Radio DJ.

As Jessica looks back on her college journey, she is grateful for her experience and the connections she made. While it is bittersweet to leave, she is excited to begin her career as an educator and hopes to be the teacher students return to visit for years to come.

Welcome incoming UNLV freshmen to an exciting new chapter in your lives! As the new school year comes, so does a new place to call home! 🏘️

If you're a freshman coming from a high school outside of Clark County and Pahrump, and are enrolled in six or more credits, you're required to live on campus for your first year.

🚨 This is a requirement for incoming freshmen who are in their first year after/post high school graduation. For example, if you graduated high school in 2026 and you attend UNLV in the fall of 2026, you must live in the residence halls.

We can't wait to welcome you home!
