Exploring financial aid options?
Start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This essential document opens on October 1st of every year!
While waiting for that process to move along, start doing research to see if there are any grants or scholarships at your goal institutions that might apply to someone like you.
Put together a list of options and go down one by one until you have tried them all!

Feeling overwhelmed by school stress?
Remember to prioritize self-care! While it's great to start on college admissions elements (essay, Common App, resume, tours) over the summer, your summer should still provide you a balance of relaxation as well.
Take breaks, engage in activities you enjoy, and practice relaxation techniques to recharge and stay balanced.

Have you visited the colleges on your list?
Attend online or in-person information sessions, tour the campus, talk to current students, and communicate with admissions officers. Take notes, ask questions, and envision yourself as part of the community.
What you know about the college is just as important as what they know about you. Trust your instincts and find your perfect fit!

The truth is that anything you put real time and energy into, that you willingly study and work on outside of school, is considered extracurricular.
It's not just school clubs and sports!
Anything that you actively educate yourself on and strive to be good at could be a great activity to mention in your college application!
