The Meadows School The Meadows School is an independent, coeducational PK-12 college prep school located on a beautiful 40-acre campus in northwest Las Vegas, NV.

Founded by Carolyn G. Goodman and Dr. LeOre Cobbley, The Meadows School officially opened on September 4, 1984 with an enrollment of 140 students in grades K-6. Today, The Meadows School is home to more than 900 students in grades PreK-12 and 125 employees. It is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

Our new Mini Mustangs Discovery Garden is ready for action! Thanks to last year’s Annual Fund, we are excited to celebrate major improvements to our Beginning School outdoor learning space.

Today, Mini Mustang families joined us for the next stage of the Discovery Garden project. After learning all about soil preparation, including the very important role of earthworms, our students got their hands dirty layering the garden beds with the ingredients needed to create healthy soil for future planting. It was a wonderful morning of learning, exploration, and family involvement, and another great example of your generosity at work at The Meadows School. We can’t wait to watch our Discovery Garden and our Mini Mustangs continue to grow!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate nine Meadows seniors who have been named Semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program! Out of more than 1.3 million students who entered the competition nationwide by taking the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT, just over 16,000 students earned Semifinalist recognition, representing less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors. Congratulations to our Meadows National Merit Semifinalists:

Head of School Dr. Jay Berckley invited these star students to his office to personally congratulate them and offer some heartfelt advice as they continue their journey.

These outstanding students now have the opportunity to advance to Finalist standing and compete for National Merit Scholarships to be awarded beginning in spring 2027.

The Meadows School was thrilled to host a special Welcome Reception for our Kindergarten, Sixth Grade, and Ninth Grade parents and families beginning exciting new chapters in their Meadows journey.

For some, this may be the start of 4 years, 6 years, or even 13 years together as part of the Mustang community! The evening was an opportunity to meet fellow parents, build new friendships, connect with school leadership, and celebrate all that lies ahead. The Annual Fund is officially underway!
We launched this year’s Meadows Annual Fund yesterday with plenty of excitement, Mustang spirit, and a few very special guests, including our cheerleaders, members of the Meadows band, and an adorable pony named Dollar Bill!

It was the perfect way to kick off an important tradition that brings our community together in support of the extraordinary teachers, programs, opportunities, and experiences that make Meadows so special.

Now the challenge begins: 100% parent participation!

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, our Lower School students came together for a touching ceremony of remembrance and reflection.

Students placed flowers at the Peace Pole in our courtyard, creating a meaningful tribute and a place for members of our Meadows community to pause, reflect, and pay their respects.

We remember those whose lives were lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of so many, and continue to teach our students the importance of compassion, unity, and peace.

While our 11th grade students were visiting colleges across Southern California, they had a special Meadows moment—running into alumna Tiffany Setaghian ’26 at Pitzer College! Tiffany is already making her mark as a college freshman and credits her Meadows experience in AT Biotech with helping her stand out when applying to join a research lab studying mitochondria.

“AT Biotech definitely helped me be more competitive in joining a research lab my freshman year at Pitzer College. As the professor reviewed my experience, he was impressed that I already knew many research skills, such as using a micropipette and plating bacteria. I would recommend AT Biotech to any Meadows students hoping to pursue research in college.”

This is what college preparation looks like at The Meadows School: students graduate not only ready for the next level, but equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make an immediate impact.

Trips Week is Underway! This week, the classroom looks a little different at The Meadows School. Students in grades 6–12 are already experiencing grade-level adventures throughout the Southwest, combining exploration, hands-on learning, connection, and plenty of unforgettable moments along the way. A surprise delivery for our Mustangs!

Our amazing Meadows Booster Club stopped by the football team’s family dinner with a special gift for our players—Hydration Kits! Proper hydration is an important part of staying healthy, focused, and ready to perform, especially during long practices and under the Friday night lights.

A huge thank you to our Booster Club for always finding thoughtful ways to support our student-athletes both on and off the field. Go Mustangs!
