BFA graduate Geovany Uranda was awarded the Lance and Elena Calvert Advanced Undergraduate Research Award for 2026 for his scholarly research "No Fue un Accidente: The Fascist Fantasy of Self-Victimization in Alfonso Ponce de Leon's Autorretrato (1936)." The research and resulting paper, which were produced in an upper-division art-history course this Fall, were recently presented at the SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Research Symposium this April.
