Congratulations to Melika Ansarinejad! She was awarded a (GSRA) Graduate Student Research Award to support her research in 2026-2027. The research is associated with her interest in autonomous vehicles. Specifically, it is a mixed-methods study of public trust in autonomous vehicles based on the recent rollout of Zoox robo-taxis here on the Las Vegas Resort Corridor. Melika will be conducting structured interviews with Zoox passengers and other riders and conducting analysis of rider experiences shared publicly (e.g., YouTube videos) to identify barriers to public trust in autonomous vehicles, with the hopes of improving infrastructure, acceptance, and safety of these vehicles.
