for donating your valuable time to giving back to those who need it the most.

We had volunteers at the train, making and serving food, running the teacups, and running candy booths. Our group was everywhere 😂.

The teens enjoyed volunteering, and they did an amazing job ❤️.

First day of our Thursday co-op!

Welcome to the crew everyone.

Today, we began the day with math evaluations, then started our unit study of Ancient Egypt. This covers: language arts, world cultures, religions, and societies, geography, comprehension, research, and writing skills.

That's a lot for our first day together, but they all did amazing.

See you next week 😊.

Today we continued working on ancient civilizations integrating art into our lessons.
Each of the teens received their math books for the year customized to their academic level.
In world literature we read the "Epic of Gilgamesh" and completed the comprehension questions.
In Psychology we read about perception vs sensations and learned about the biology of vision and hearing.
In Spanish they continue to practice the alphabet, and played their favorite vocabulary game, Lotería. Señor Michael won the first game, then Señor Jayden won the second.
Forensics today was our final lesson on observations. Joey & I greeted them dressed normally, but once class began, we both changed and covered up to see how much they could remember. We also reviewed types of evidence.
They all did a great job!

They found all 11 pieces of evidence!
Next up for forensic science- deductive reasoning.

Forensic Science
Today the teens utilized their observation skills to work their first crime scene simulation.
Their tasks were:
1. Work in teams to identify evidence.
2. Identify extraneous evidence.
3. Identify and measure footprints, shoe prints, handprints, and fingerprints.
4. Identify the victim
5. Identify the suspect
6. Present their evidence and try to solve the crime.

Team 1- Detective Karli Atkinson, Officer Jayden Gonzalez, and Officer Michael Mayorga

Team 2- Detective Hennessy Gonzalez, Officer Kaden Atkinson, and Officer Hutchins

Both teams worked carefully and diligently to identify that Joseph Bustani was the victim of a victimless crime. He was the victim of a series of unfortunate events that led to a fictional nosebleed 🤣.

Great job everyone! So proud of your teamwork, communication, and observation skills.
