Connecting people with the planet—and each other—through the power of gardens.

🌱 Teamwork can bring a school garden back to life! 💚

Our Green Our Planet team recently came together with a group of dedicated volunteers for United Way of Southern Nevada Day of Caring at Deskin Elementary School. Together, we spent the morning getting the outdoor garden ready for students and staff to enjoy!

With plenty of helping hands, we were able to accomplish a lot in just a few hours:
🌿 Clear weeds and remove dead plant material from the garden beds

🍎 Trim and tidy the orchard

🧹 Clean and refresh the garden pathways

♻️ Remove overgrowth & weeds

All that hard work made a big difference! The garden is looking cleaner, fresher, and more inviting—and ready to continue serving as a space where students can learn, explore, and connect with nature. 🌻🌱

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to help care for this special space. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and get your hands in the soil makes an incredible impact on the schools we serve. 💚

🌱 Growing healthier families, one home at a time! 💚

We’re excited to share that Green Our Planet has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation! 🎉 Kat and Andrea were honored to accept the grant on behalf of Green Our Planet, and we’re so grateful for this support.

Through this grant, we’ll be able to serve 20 families in Northeast Las Vegas, providing each household with a tabletop hydroponic growing system, six months of seeds and growing supplies, hands-on training, and ongoing technical support to help families grow fresh produce year-round. 🌿🥬

But this program is about more than growing food. Families will also take part in a full year of engagement focused on nutrition, healthy eating, and family wellness.

We’re looking forward to seeing these families:
🥦 Grow and enjoy more fresh fruits and vegetables
🍳 Cook and share more meals together
🌱 Build confidence preparing healthy foods
💚 Strengthen family and intergenerational connections
🏡 Create a lasting source of fresh, homegrown produce

We’re incredibly grateful to Sprouts for investing in families and helping us create more opportunities to grow fresh, nutritious food at home. We can’t wait to see what grows from this partnership! 🌱✨

🌱 A Day of Caring can make a world of difference! 💚

United Way of Southern Nevada, Green Our Planet team and volunteers from our community partners, including the Lincoln Dynamic Foundationspent the morning giving the outdoor garden at Charlotte and Jerry Keller Elementary School a much-needed refresh!

Together, this incredible group tackled a lot in just a few hours:
🌿 Weeding and removing dead plant matter from the garden beds
🍎 Trimming and tidying up the orchard
🧹 Cleaning up the walking paths

The result? A cleaner, fresher, and safer garden where Keller’s students and staff can continue to grow, learn, and spend time outdoors. 🌻

The amount of work this small group of volunteers accomplished in just a few hours also makes a meaningful difference for our Farmer team, who care for school gardens like Keller’s week after week.

A huge thank-you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves, got their hands in the soil, and helped bring new life to this garden. Your time and hard work are helping create a thriving space for students to learn, grow, and connect with nature. 🌱✨

🌿 A first harvest calls for a celebration! 🎉

A huge thank-you to Tom & Leslie Thomas for helping make our vision for this hydroponic farm a reality! 💚 We’re so grateful for your generous support and for helping create this opportunity for the Opportunity Village community.

The first harvest party went off without a hitch, with plenty of curious visitors turning into volunteers along the way. Thanks to all the helping hands, we were able to finish hours earlier than planned! 🙌

We harvested Genovese basil, dill, and several varieties of lettuce before getting to work preparing everything for the team. We bagged, labeled, weighed, and recorded each bundle before sharing the fresh harvest—and the bundles of joy! 😆🌿

After harvesting, the team gave the hydroponic system a thorough cleaning, paying close attention to every nook and crevice. Once everything was clean and dry, we started planning the next growing cycle.

And there’s already plenty to look forward to! 🌱 Basil, chives, dill, and rainbow Swiss chard are next up on the hydroponic unit. We’re excited for the next cycle!🌿✨

🍂🌱 Fall is in the air! 🌻

As the seasons begin to change and the weather cools, it’s a wonderful time to get outside and enjoy the beauty growing all around us.

Sunlight is good for us, our plants, and all the little garden visitors that stop by! ☀️🦋 Take a moment to slow down, be present, and appreciate the flowers, fresh greens, and simple moments that remind us just how beautiful our planet can be.

Sometimes, all we need is a little sunshine and time in the garden to brighten our day. 💚🌿

Wishing you a beautiful start to the fall season! 🍂✨

🌱 Growing a little more joy in our community! 💚

We’re incredibly grateful to the MGM volunteers who recently came together to package and donate nearly 1,300 seed packets that will be shared with teachers and families through our engagement and community events throughout the year. 🌻🌿

This is the second time this amazing group has supported this project. Last year, more than 1,000 seed packets were distributed to our community, inspiring families and community members to start planting and growing at home.

We hope these seeds inspire people to get their hands in the soil and discover the simple joy of watching something grow—whether at home, in the workplace, or in a community garden. 🌱

Thank you, MGM Grand Las Vegas, for your continued support and for helping us plant seeds of growth, connection, and inspiration throughout our community! 💚🌻

🌿✨ There’s always something new to discover in the garden!

We’ve had some fun garden visitors lately—a tortoise, buzzing bees, a beautiful butterfly, and even a tiny praying mantis! 🐢🐝🦋 These little surprises have been highlights for both our students and our team.

Moments like these are a wonderful reminder of how much life is happening all around us. When we take the time to step outside, slow down, and look closely, we never know what we might find!

So, if you have a garden nearby, take a few minutes today to get outside and explore. Feel the sunshine, listen to the sounds of nature, and see what garden visitors you can spot. You might just discover something that makes you smile. 💚🌱

Happy exploring from the Green Our Planet team! ☀️🌿
