Public Comment: 6.16.26 Interim Standing Committee on Education | Nevada State Education Association NSEA's public comments at the Joint Interim Standing Committee on Education.

Today was a truly empowering day. President Giles and I were thrilled to speak at the interim education committee hearings for the state. We were heartened by the support from NSEA Chris Daly in submitting a BDR to increase special education staff in self-contained classes, as well as a BDR request for paid time off when injured at work and not covered under workers' compensation. Lastly, we are deeply grateful for Anna Binder's unwavering support for educators and our students. Your voice carries considerable weight, and having a parent on our side for these issues is a game-changer. Thank you all that called in, your voices were heard and we appreciate you.

What a great way to start the weekend ESEA and NEA-SN went to support our endorsed candidates for CCSD TRUSTEES during their candidates forum. They did fantastic. VOTE Rob Hutchinson, Brenda Zamora and Linda Cavazos for CCSD TRUSTEE!

If anyone is available to volunteer this Saturday to support our ESEA endorsed CCSD trustee candidate, it would be greatly appreciated.

The ESEA Executive Board was honored to have a meet and greet with Rob Hutchinson. We are proud to endorse him for CCSD SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE DISTRICT F. He has our vote let’s give him yours too!

ESEA had 25 member delegates at the NSEA 55th Annual Delegate Assembly. Many of them this was there first time attending. They did great work!! I thank all of them for dedicating their time away from their families and am so grateful for the activism.
