ESEA Delivers a Huge Win for Support Professionals!

Through negotiations with the Clark County School District (CCSD), ESEA successfully secured no increase in employee payroll contributions for health insurance.

Because there will be no increase in health insurance payroll deductions, employees will be able to fully realize the value of their 3% Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) without it being offset by higher healthcare payroll costs.

At a time when healthcare costs continue to rise, protecting your take-home pay is a significant victory. This achievement reflects ESEA's ongoing commitment to protecting members' wages, benefits, and financial security.

Today was a truly empowering day. President Giles and I were thrilled to speak at the interim education committee hearings for the state. We were heartened by the support from NSEA Chris Daly in submitting a BDR to increase special education staff in self-contained classes, as well as a BDR request for paid time off when injured at work and not covered under workers' compensation. Lastly, we are deeply grateful for Anna Binder's unwavering support for educators and our students. Your voice carries considerable weight, and having a parent on our side for these issues is a game-changer. Thank you all that called in, your voices were heard and we appreciate you.

What a great way to start the weekend ESEA and NEA-SN went to support our endorsed candidates for CCSD TRUSTEES during their candidates forum. They did fantastic. VOTE Rob Hutchinson, Brenda Zamora and Linda Cavazos for CCSD TRUSTEE!
