Dr. William Sullivan (Doc) touched countless lives in our community, especially with his groundbreaking and award winning work with the federal educational and college readiness TRiO programs in Las Vegas like Upward Bound and Talent Search, as well as the awesome GEAR UP program. I will always be grateful to Doc and the team at UNLV The Center for giving me the opportunity to manage and lead an exceptional GEAR UP team for over 16 years and becoming an established professional along the way. Doc Sullivan was an incredible trailblazer and advocate for poor kids, and used education as a means for helping them strive towards their own greatness and improve the lives of their family lineage.

Thank you Doc Sullivan for all that you did, and all that you were to a grateful generation. We honor and salute you. Well Done and Rest In Peace…

Quick turnaround trip today for a college tour at If you can, always attend an in-person college tour. Websites, brochures and virtual tours are great and needed, but there is nothing like feeling the vibe of the campus in person. How is it that UofA’s mascot is a Wildcat, yet their saying is ? I know now because of a great campus ambassador tour guide!😂 But the absolute best part of this college tour was seeing how proud my wifey is of her baby girl . What a special moment today was for them. More college tours to come until the choice is made…

Additionally, they have also secured money for tuition scholarship opportunities and application fee waivers for anyone who does want to apply to Touro Nevada now and in the future. Fewer black men applied to medical school in 2014 than in 1978, yet black men have the lowest life expectancy in the US. Why is this? What can we do to turn this situation around?

The Live Inspired Network is proud to partner with Touro University Nevada and other community organizations to offer a virtual screening of the documentary BLACK MEN IN WHITE COATS April 2-6, as well as a distinguished panel discussion on Wed. That’s a Wrap! The college fair season is officially over for ACCESS. I am incredibly grateful to all the college and career exhibitors that invested their time and resources in order to participate in ACCF. What an outstanding group of professionals you all are! To the students, parents, educators, and community that attended and promoted ACCESS; I thank you so much for attending and sharing the event. I pray you received every good thing from it that you hoped for.

What a ride it has been these last 4 years with the ACCESS College & Career Fair! I have dealt with some incredible challenges and hurdles trying to bring this innovative, equal access education event to our communities. I have lost a lot on this journey; money, friends, jobs, sleep, and so on. But I have also gained so much as well; néw friends, confidants, experiences, perspective, humility, and wisdom to name a few. I am a blessed and grateful man to have had the pleasure of bringing this great event, even virtually, to the world. As we sunset this activity for now, I sincerely hope that you all will continue to strive for greatness and fulfill the purpose that you were meant to fulfill; whether you are a teacher, student, parent, college access professional, entrepreneur, etc.

There will be some changes to College Access Group in the coming months, but I will always be an advocate and promote ACCESS to education, as I firmly believe that .
