Dr. Allen has established an outstanding record as a consultant and tutor for high school and college students. As the founder and director of Enhanced Learning he has been able to reach out to students throughout the nation and the world to help them with their academic difficulties. After spending a year in Australia as a Junior Fulbright Fellow, Dr. Allen returned to the US to complete his Ph.D. in Biophysics at the UCLA School of Medicine. He has over 40 years experience as a teacher, researcher, and administrator at Purdue University, Johns Hopkins University, University of British Columbia, West Virginia University, and UCLA as well as smaller colleges and college prep schools throughout the nation. He has been a test question writer for SAT and ACT testing services and other state and national agencies and has received national awards for this work. He has also served on the National Science Foundation as a grant reviewer and consultant. Over the past 20 years he has presented 50+ workshops nationally and internationally on teaching improvement for teachers and faculty members. And, he has worked individually with hundreds of students to reach their educational goals. Dr. Allen's extensive experience and proven success have allowed him to develop highly effective techniques to work with students on college selection and applications and any academic difficulties they may have not only in upper school but also continuing in their college courses.
