Our campers kept busy by:
Conducting active field excavations
Analyzing human history through material traces 🔍
Working with professional archaeologists to sharpen their artifact analysis skills 📚

ICYMI: June 15-17, the College of Liberal Arts and UNLV Sociology proudly hosted the Justice, Law, and Society summer camp dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders. Throughout the program, attendees engaged in hands-on community outreach, partnering with The Just One Project and the Dolores Huerta Resource Center to assemble essential supplies for our local community. Students applied critical analytical skills to examine the justice system under the guidance of our expert guest speakers. A heartfelt thank you to our community partners, guest speakers, dedicated staff, and inspiring students for making this camp a success.

Held June 8-12, the Witnessing History Summer Camp was a huge success! During the event, students learned about the role of museums in building public memory and embarked on a unique journey to explore two exciting museums in Las Vegas, The Mob Museum and National Atomic Testing Museum . Thank you to both museums and the hardworking COLA leaders who helped to create the opportunity for these students.

COLA proudly hosted the UNLV Mock Trial Summer Workshop June 1-5. The event was designed to expand access to mock trial activity. Campers used their public speaking and advocacy skills to engage with guest legal experts, build critical skills through debate games, and participate in thrilling courtroom scrimmages and mock trials. Thank you to all the incredible volunteers, staff, and student leaders who helped coordinate and execute this workshop.

Congrats to everyone involved in the creation of the new Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology program, which received NSHE Board of Regents approval in Reno earlier this month. The professional degree will focus on clinical psychology practice with pediatric populations and aims to help address the shortage of practitioners in Southern Nevada.
