Yoga Teachers you might have been told to post about your life.

Yeah well meaning people told me that too.

But that doesn’t mean post about what you ate or your hubs or how cute your kids are.

In fact, in the world we live in, I suggest that yoga teachers or anyone for that matter, never post their children on social media. Especially with ai.

But that’s beside the point.

A social media strategy for yoga teachers is more refined.

You want to post things that genuinely help your target audience, not random yoga poses or things completely unrelated to your ideal customer.

Even if your dog 🐕 is cute. It’s not relevant.

And no they don’t care if you are multi faceted.

Social media is about narrowing down and laser focus.

Don’t believe me… look at anyone who’s successful at this. They post about one thing. One idea. All major accounts do that.

You are not a celebrity. Social media is service and marketing.

YOGA TEACHERS have great hearts 💕 That’s why we got into this teaching yoga thing.

And the world is going to tell you that you shouldn’t even try to make money as a yoga teacher.

But from someone who’s practiced yoga for 40 years and taught for 25 years I can tell you this…

No yoga teacher who taught yoga with any amount of longevity did it for free or for low pay.

Yoga Teachers with longevity had a structured plan that allowed them to build something lasting.

When you decide to take your yoga teaching online most people miss these things.

1) A VERY clear offer that makes sense to people. A confused mind always says no. You need clarity for customers.

2) Systems in place that work while you sleep. You can’t be the only cog in the wheel of how you reach people.

3) Strong and consistent advertising. You have to do more than you think. Whatever you think is enough promotion, do that times 10 or 20.

YOGA TEACHERS taking the exact model that you used in the yoga studio and then taking that online isn’t going to work.

No one wants to come to your zoom yoga class at 6pm on Tuesday.

You can’t compete with big companies like Yoga International and Om Stars. They will always have more teachers, more classes and more availability for a lower price than what you have to offer.

Besides, why would anybody want to take your yoga class when they can just take a yoga class on YouTube for free?

That’s why I never recommend selling subscription model for yoga.

I teach how to solve an actual problem for a specific person.

And then promote like CRAZY every day. Multiple times a day. All the time.

You can’t promote enough.

People need to see you 30 times before they are moved to act 😳
