Mariachi Los Gavilanes de Monaco Middle School

Earlier this week, our 7th and 8th grade students of Mariachi Los Gavilanes had the incredible honor of performing together for the final time as a group at the 2026 National Mariachi Education Workshops! They proudly represented Monaco Middle School in front of mariachi educators and directors from across the nation, sharing the talent, dedication, and heart that they have developed throughout this school year.

This performance was a meaningful opportunity for our students to celebrate the friendships, musical growth, and memories they have created together through Mariachi. We are so proud of the commitment they have shown in rehearsals, performances, competitions, and every challenge they faced along the way.

A special thank you to the National Mariachi Education Consultants, LLC for inviting Mariachi Los Gavilanes to be part of such an important event!

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible middle school mariachi students for an unforgettable year of hard work, leadership, passion, and beautiful music. You represented our program with pride, and we cannot wait to see all that you accomplish next!

They brought great energy, strong musicianship, and a polished performance to the stage. Their attention to detail, expressive playing, and confident stage presence helped create a memorable performance that resonated with both the audience and judges alike.

Our 2026 Monaco Middle School Mariachi Summer Camp is officially in full swing!

The next generation of our middle school Mariachi students is hard at work building the strong musical foundations that will help them thrive in our program next year. Every day, these students are developing their musicianship, strengthening their technique, and growing as performers.

Today, they focused on vocal harmonization, learning how to listen, blend, and sing together as an ensemble. Progress may come one step at a time, but their dedication and growth have already been incredible to see!

We are proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see what they accomplish during the upcoming school year. The future of our program is bright!

What an incredible first week of Mariachi Summer Camp at Monaco Middle School!

We are extremely proud of the tremendous progress these students have made in just four days!

Approximately 60–70% of these middle school students were beginner mariachi students this school year, making their growth even more impressive.

During our summer camp, students are already being challenged with our advanced warm-up routines while also learning seven of the required two-octave scales for their upcoming auditions along with other warmups that we use in our advanced classes!

The dedication, focus, and work ethic these students have shown this week have been outstanding, and we are excited to continue building toward another amazing year for the Monaco Middle School Mariachi program!

We just wanted to wish our incredible Mariachi 8th Graders the very best as you begin the next chapter of your lives in high school! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with each and every one of you throughout your journey at Monaco Middle School.

We hope that, along with the beautiful music you created together, you also learned valuable life lessons about hard work, discipline, teamwork, pride, and perseverance.

Thank you for the unforgettable memories, the laughter, the performances, and the countless moments that made this program so special. You will truly be missed more than you know!
