With our Mariachi summer camp behind us, I’m finally getting the chance to share more amazing performances from our 2026 Monaco Middle School Invitational Mariachi Competition from earlier this school year!
🔥 The passion, dedication, and musicianship on display throughout the event made for an unforgettable day of mariachi, and we’re excited to continue showcasing these talented ensembles.

They brought great energy, strong musicianship, and a polished performance to the stage. Their attention to detail, expressive playing, and confident stage presence helped create a memorable performance that resonated with both the audience and judges alike.

Our 2026 Monaco Middle School Mariachi Summer Camp is officially in full swing!
The next generation of our middle school Mariachi students is hard at work building the strong musical foundations that will help them thrive in our program next year. Every day, these students are developing their musicianship, strengthening their technique, and growing as performers.
Today, they focused on vocal harmonization, learning how to listen, blend, and sing together as an ensemble. Progress may come one step at a time, but their dedication and growth have already been incredible to see!
We are proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see what they accomplish during the upcoming school year. The future of our program is bright!

What an incredible first week of Mariachi Summer Camp at Monaco Middle School!
We are extremely proud of the tremendous progress these students have made in just four days!
Approximately 60–70% of these middle school students were beginner mariachi students this school year, making their growth even more impressive.
During our summer camp, students are already being challenged with our advanced warm-up routines while also learning seven of the required two-octave scales for their upcoming auditions along with other warmups that we use in our advanced classes!
The dedication, focus, and work ethic these students have shown this week have been outstanding, and we are excited to continue building toward another amazing year for the Monaco Middle School Mariachi program!

We are so proud of everything you have accomplished during your time here at Monaco Middle School. Thank you for the dedication, passion, memories, and beautiful music you shared with our program over the years. Watching each of you grow not only as musicians, but also as leaders and young adults, has truly been something special.
As you begin this next chapter in high school, always remember that you will forever be part of the Monaco Mariachi family. Once a Gavilan, always a Gavilan! 🦅
And although Gio could not be with us physically today, he was absolutely there with us in spirit. We missed you and are wishing you a speedy recovery. Get better soon, Gio! 🧡
We just wanted to wish our incredible Mariachi 8th Graders the very best as you begin the next chapter of your lives in high school! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with each and every one of you throughout your journey at Monaco Middle School.
We hope that, along with the beautiful music you created together, you also learned valuable life lessons about hard work, discipline, teamwork, pride, and perseverance.

A very special moment tonight as our 5th grade Mariachi students from Lynch Elementary School performed side-by-side with our advanced middle school ensemble, Mariachi Los Gavilanes, during the Lynch Elementary 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony! ✨🎻🎺
This performance represented more than just music. It was a true passing of the torch between our graduating middle school students preparing for high school and the next generation of young musicians who will soon begin their journey with us at Monaco Middle School next year as 6th graders.
Seeing these students perform together was a powerful reminder of how strong our mariachi family continues to grow year after year. The tradition, passion, leadership, and musical excellence are being carried forward by an incredible new generation of students, and the future of the Monaco Middle School Mariachi program looks brighter than ever! ❤️🎶
We are so proud of all of these students and excited for what is ahead!

One of our trumpet players was recently involved in a serious accident that left him hospitalized and in need of surgery. By the grace of God, he is now on the road to recovery, but his family is facing overwhelming medical expenses during this incredibly difficult time.

Introducing the advanced violins for the 2026-2027 school year in the Monaco Middle School Mariachi Program! 🦅 🎻🔥
These extremely talented candidates have already gone through a highly competitive audition process to earn their place at this level.
But the journey is not over yet!
These students will participate in one final round of auditions in July/August for official placement into one of our nationally competitive performance ensembles for the upcoming school year. The expectations continue to rise as students prepare for advanced performances, major festivals, competitions, honor ensembles, and exciting performance opportunities throughout the year.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work these students have already shown, and we cannot wait to see how much they continue to grow as musicians, leaders, and performers. The future is bright for Monaco Mariachi! 💪🎶🔥
