We offer full and half day preschool in Las Vegas, grounded in the concepts of play-based curriculum, and parent participation and ownership.
{Cooperative Philosophy and Values}
{We believe} that children need to Learn to Play and Play to Learn. Play meets the needs of the whole child. Child guided learning experiences, individualized learning, and developmentally appropriate learning are key to learning through play. Along with teaching specific academic skills, a play-based approach helps children “learn how to learn”. Through explor
ation, experimentation and play, children develop a concrete understanding of the world, which is the crucial foundation for all higher learning.
{We believe} in a child-centered curriculum. We strive to balance teacher-directed and child-initiated learning with a focus on experience-based learning (learning by doing) and emergent curriculum (building on children’s strengths and interests). The activities we plan for children, the way we organize the environment, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with children are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school. It is our goal to help children become creative, independent learners who grow in both self-esteem and self-control.
{We believe} that children need developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Our qualified teachers strive to respect the age, developmental needs, and cultural needs of the individual child. This approach to education is based in research on how young children grow and learn, allowing each child to meet challenges and achieve learning goals.
{We believe} that early childhood education should meet the needs of the Whole Child. Our curriculum identifies goals in all five developmental domains: social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative. The acquisition of positive social skills is emphasized at Kids’ Co-op.
{We believe} that teachers and parents work together to recognize developmental delays. When a developmental delay is suspected, the teacher will advise the parent at the earliest possible time and make recommendations for intervention, support, and/or recommend an in-depth developmental evaluation conducted by a trained professional.
{We believe} in family connection and education. At the Kids’ Co-op, each member is actively involved by volunteering in the classroom, sharing in the business operations of the school, and by participating in ongoing education to ensure their child’s emotional, social, and educational success.
{We believe} in cooperation. At Kids’ Co-op, children, parents, and teachers grow and learn together.

Fun Fact: Our tortoise was named by a Co-op family after a tortoise derby! 🐢💚
Before Tracker officially became Tracker, we held a tortoise derby where the last turtle down the slide won (obviously 🐢😂). The family that took the victory earned naming rights for our school tortoise.
They chose the name “Tracker,” describing him as a silent guardian and fearless explorer keeping watch over our kiddos while they play and learn.
The name instantly felt like him. Slow, steady, curious, and always nearby while the kids play. We still love the thought and imagination that went into it. ✨

Happy International Mud Day!
The muddy clothes can be washed. The memories of digging, splashing, exploring, and playing outside are the moments that tend to stay with us.
Sometimes the best days are the messiest ones. Just ask any parent who’s picked up their kiddo with a full “best day ever” story and plenty of mud to show for it. 😉

From our Co-op backyard to yours ☀️🫧
One of our favorite summer activities? Giant bubbles. Simple setup, lots of movement, and kids completely leading the play.
They’re “just playing,” but it’s really so much more. They’re experimenting, testing ideas, laughing through the “oops” moments, and basically running little science labs in the backyard. 🫧
Try it at home! Here’s the bubble mix we used: • 6 cups water • 1/2 cup cornstarch • 1/2 cup dish detergent • 1 tbsp baking powder • 1 tbsp glycerin
A few tips: Dissolve cornstarch in water first, then gently mix everything together. Good dish soap (like Dawn) makes a big difference, and distilled water makes even better bubbles than tap.
Pour it into a kiddie pool, grab some large rings, hula hoops, or DIY pool noodles for bubble wands, and let the kids take it from there. 🤗

A little reminder for summer ☀️
Some of the best learning happens in everyday moments through play, connection, curiosity, and time together.
This summer, keep learning going by: ☀️ Leaving space for unscheduled family time — these are the times children are more likely to wonder about the world and to ask questions
☀️ Sharing family breakfasts or dinners together
☀️ Creating a simple summer bucket list with your child ☀️ Rotating toys and bringing out “new” play bins later in the season ☀️ When your child says “I’m bored…” pausing for 5 minutes of connection first. ❤️ A hug, a cuddle, a silly game, or undivided attention can refill their “love tank” and often restart their imagination.
☀️ Trying playful challenges like:
What kind of food do dinosaurs need in the sandbox? Can you make the longest domino line ever? How many things can you pick up with your toes?
☀️ Making simple sensory bins (check link in bio for ideas!)
Wishing everyone a summer full of wonder, laughter, connection, and learning through play. 🌼

BRB crying over how these babies are suddenly moving up. 🥹✨
What a year of messy paint, muddy adventures, bike races, saving the world in the Big Yard, snack time chats, tiny friendships, and so much growing up together.
So proud of our little graduates + the village that got them here. 🫶🎓

Where do we even begin? 🥺
If you’ve walked through our doors anytime in the past 26 years, Vicky has been there — welcoming families, answering questions, comforting parents and little ones, organizing and fixing all the things, and keeping the heart of our school beating every single day.
Vicky, thank you for the care, patience, laughter, and love you’ve poured into this community for over two decades. Your impact reaches far beyond these walls, and the Co-op won’t be the same without you. 💛
Wishing you a retirement filled with joy, relaxation, adventure, and all the happiness you deserve. 💐

Volunteer Appreciation Day hits different in a Co-op. 💛 Our families show up in the classroom, jump into all kinds of play, read stories, clean up everyday messes, set up snacks, comfort big feelings, and make the magic happen every day. The love and care you pour into this little community means so much to our kids and to each other.
We’re really lucky to do this alongside you. 🫶✨

Last week we had our Earth Day 🌎 celebration, and it was such a great day. 💚
The kids were fully in it, finding ladybugs and worms, meeting a few animals (like Mrs. Toth’s ball python!), making bird feeders, painting marble earth and upcycled art, and even practicing sorting and recycling. 🐞🐛🎨♻️
Just one of those days where everything felt simple and meaningful: outside, hands busy, everyone curious about the world around them. 🌱✨

Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌻
Our 4’s class explored sunflowers through art and science, first using real sunflowers as inspiration for still life drawings, then planting seeds of our own. Now, our hydroponic watering system is bringing tiny sprouts to life! 🌱💧
Want to try growing your own hydroponics at home? This simple upside-down bottle setup makes it easy!
1️⃣ Cut a plastic bottle in half
2️⃣ Flip the top upside down into the base
3️⃣ Thread a cotton rope/strips or shoelace through the cap as a wick
4️⃣ Fill the bottom with water
5️⃣ Add soil and seeds to the top section
6️⃣ Watch your plants grow as the wick keeps them hydrated! 🌿
