As the last speaker series event for Spring 2018, in the month of April we have the pleasure to host Alexandra Silver, the Chief Executive Director for the Clark County Medical Society (CCMS) join us on Monday, April 30th. CCMS is the official political society of physicians, residents, and medical students that represents our interests before the city and the state legislature. This event holds an opportunity for anyone interested to learn on what is CCMS "The Who, The Where, The What," how you benefit by being a member and how you can get involved. Please know that the event is free and OPEN TO ALL!

The UNLVSoM AMSA would like to take the time to thank our national AMSA President Joey Johnson for supporting us each step along the way during our foundation, growth, and guiding us to the national AMSA Conference. President Johnson has made every stride to get involved with us, a new local chapter, on every level helping us create ideas, inspire our students, assist us with recruitment and to better understand what AMSA is all about. As he is coming onto the last month of his service to the organization, UNLVSoM AMSA would like to salute him for his work!

This weekend the UNLVSoM AMSA together with the undergraduate AMSA is proud to represent Nevada in Washington DC for the first time at the national AMSA Conference. We want to do a big shout out to our Regional Director Molly Whitt for always keeping our chapter posted and helping us establish a solid foundation this year! The UNLVSoM AMSA is proud to report to you that earlier today on Wednesday February 21st, 2018 the national AMSA team in Washington D.C. has approved UNLVSoM AMSA past its preliminary chapter accreditation as a recognized AMSA chapter. UNLVSoM AMSA is now an official Medical School chapter in the United States.
