🎓🌿 Students — Desert Green Scholarships Are Open!

Scholarships are available to help students attend Desert Green 2026, September 29–30 in Las Vegas.

The Linn Mills Scholarship supports students pursuing degrees or certificates in horticulture, landscape, arboriculture, irrigation, agronomy, agriculture, and related fields.

Selected recipients may also receive conference registration, travel, and lodging support through the Fortier Excellence in Education Scholarship (FEES).

Meet our Keynote for our 30th year program, Mark Hall-Patton.

Mark Hall-Patton is a veteran museum professional with 44 years of experience. He retired in 2021 as the Administrator for the Clark County museum system, having previously directed the San Luis Obispo County Historical Museum. A prolific author and historian, Mark has published four books, hundreds of articles, and produced numerous local history videos. He is widely recognized for his regular appearances on the History Channel’s Pawn Stars and currently hosts Mark and Ted’s History Adventures on YouTube.

Throughout his career, Mark has served on the boards of the Nevada, California, and Western Museums Associations. He holds a BA in History from UC Irvine and completed graduate studies in Museum Studies at the University of Delaware. In 2022, he was named a Distinguished Nevadan by the Nevada System of Higher Education. He resides with his wife, Dr. Colleen Hall-Patton, and they have two children.
