Congratulations to Boyd Law’s Ryan Meservey, Sean Cosley, and Trevor Kennedy, who placed 8th out of 39 teams from schools across the country recently at the Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition.

Campus united together for a special Tribal Nations Healing Ceremony this afternoon that included words from local tribal leaders, prayers, bird singing (traditional music sung by the tribes of the Southwest), the healing jingle dance, and a purifying smudging/blessing.

Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Judge Jennifer Schwartz administered a swearing-in oath to students in the Poverty Law and Policy Clinic, Survivor Representation Advocacy Clinic, Tenants’ Rights Legal Residency, the Samuel S. Lionel Externship Program, and the UNLV Immigration Clinic. Judge Schwartz is a judge for Department 17 of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court and a 2002 graduate of the Boyd School of Law. The student attorneys will work under the supervisor of a licensed attorney.

Special thanks to the American Bar Endowment for supporting access to justice programs such as our Community Law Day and training seminar last October.
