Lately I’ve been digging into rudiments as systems, not isolated patterns—keeping a steady pulse or accent while the mechanics change underneath, and then moving those ideas into real musical contexts.
Through February I’ll be exploring that across different rudiments, grips, and coordination ideas, with an emphasis on control and continuity rather than speed.
These are things I still practice regularly, because they don’t get easy. They get useful.
