At NVSI learning looks…a little different. It’s not your traditional textbooks, memorization, and tests. It’s hands-on, it’s innovative, and most importantly it’s engaging. Our middle schoolers actually hate when they are sick or have to miss school (yes, you read that right) because everyday has something exciting and new.

Only a few open seats in 6th grade for the next year of adventures!

Meet (or re-meet!) our directors, Eric and Christina Threeton. 🫶🏽

Together, they’ve built something truly special — a community rooted in acceptance, where students (and families) feel seen, supported, and inspired. Their dedication goes far beyond titles; it shows up in every decision, every conversation, and every person they pour into.

The Nevada School of Inquiry is headed into year five thanks to these two educators. It’s amazing what can happen when leaders follow their dreams. The dream was simple-open a school that is student focused (where kids actually want to go), provide opportunities daily to explore & wonder, and connect learning to the real-world through experiences.

Leave a ❤️ if you’re grateful for leaders like them!

In the classroom you’ll often find our students at the front of the room, not the teachers. That’s because our students are learning from one another and sharing their progress and work with their peers. When the work is meaningful, and helps kids achieve their personal goals, they are proud to share and teach.

Here’s a pattern we see all the time:
A kid starts 6th grade at the local middle school. They are nervous but hopeful.

By September/October, something shifts — they dread going in the mornings. They are sick all the time. They have lost their sparkle. By January, the parents are searching for something better. Then they find us.

We hear and live this story every year. And every time, the parent says the same thing: “I wish we found you last year.”

If your gut is already telling you traditional middle school isn’t right for your son or daughter — trust it! We have a few 6th grade openings for next year, and we’d love to meet your family.

Relationships are at the center of everything we do. When you are small and spend a significant amount of time together, you learn how to navigate the quiet moments just as much as the loud ones. You learn each other’s rhythms, the unspoken language of a shared glance, the comfort of knowing someone is simply there.

That’s what community really is — not just proximity, but presence. Not just shared space, but shared understanding. It’s built slowly, in the in-between moments most people overlook.

When you belong somewhere, you stop performing and start just being. And that changes everything.

We learned how mountain climbers solve problems, work together, and face fears and decided to give it a try…how did we do?
