Yesterday, UNLV Hospitality Management students completed their summer internship with Fontainebleau Las Vegas

These students worked across a variety of areas at the luxury resort including marketing, nightlife, hotel operations, sales, food & beverage, casino marketing, and more! Their experience capped off with their pitch ideas to Fontainebleau leadership, including their president, Maurice Wooden.

UNLV Hospitality student Amaia Frank brought her A-game during SHE Weekend earlier this month!

Amaia joined a group of fellow UNLV hospitality students assisting with the celebration of the U.S. female athletes who competed in the Olympics and Paralympics. From helping with PR tasks to guiding guests and handling last-minute adjustments, she was the go-to problem solver.

Beyond the high-profile event, Amaia loved connecting with the community, especially working with students from the Inspiring Children Foundation. To top it all off? She was recognized and got a shoutout from Flavor Flav!

Spain wasn’t the only one to win at the FIFA World Cup ⚽️🏟️

UNLV Hospitality Management student Cooper Wong recently scored a massive opportunity with Wolfgang Puck’s catering team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He was selected by Wolfgang Puck’s catering team to work with VVIP guests in an invitation-only suite in Santa Clara. Here, Cooper saw the level of planning, precision, and teamwork required to deliver world-class hospitality at one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

For Cooper, this experience reinforced his passion for hospitality. Way to go, Cooper!

Luke Herrmann, a UNLV Hospitality Management junior, is spending his summer interning at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas! (The Venetian Las Vegas)

As a People Operations Intern, he’s rotating throughout the various areas of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and employee relations.

The Las Vegas native was drawn to this internship after taking HMD 205 and wanted to see how HR operates in a luxury hospitality property. Securing an internship can be challenging, but what helped Luke land one was having an open mind and an eagerness to learn.

Way to go, Luke!
