PWPSA would like to introduce Damon Miles Region 2

Please welcome Mila N. Miranda, ST, CRCST, CIS, CER, CHL, is a dedicated healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience in sterile processing and perioperative services. She currently serves as the Assistant Manager of Sterile Processing at UC Davis Health, where she oversees daily operations, staff development, quality assurance, and compliance with AORN, AAMI, TJC, and CMS standards.

Recently elected as the Region 2 Director for the Pacific West Sterile Processing Association (PWSPA), Mila brings a strong passion for advocacy, education, and professional growth within the sterile processing community. Her leadership is rooted in operational excellence, mentorship, and advancing best practices to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes across the Central California region.

Throughout her career, Mila has held progressive leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, Marin General Hospital, and other surgical centers, managing complex SPD departments and leading initiatives in staff training, policy development, and technology integration. Her extensive background also includes academic instruction, having written sterile processing curricula and trained future technicians through programs at multiple institutions.

Mila is an active member of several professional organizations, including HSPA, AST, and ASSI, where she contributes as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the CRCST certification and participates in standards work groups. She also serves on advisory boards for Beyond Clean, Steris, and The College of Health Care Professions, championing education, innovation, and community engagement within the profession.

Outside of her professional roles, Mila volunteers her time with organizations such as PCAG (Parents and Children Advisory Group) and Root & Rebound, supporting leadership, mentorship, and reintegration efforts in her community.

Her commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and empowering others continues to inspire those in and beyond the sterile processing field.

Certified CRCST, I am a Sterile Processing Supervisor with experience with surgical instruments, sterilization, decontamination, and materials management. Currently leading the Central Sterile Processing Department at HonorHealth. I ensure compliance with safety standards, oversee instrument care, and manage team operations in high-volume healthcare settings.I am also skilled in inventory control process improvements, and staff training. Served as a secretary for the Grand Canyon Chapter of Arizona.
